March 15, 2010 | The US State Department invited D.C.-area law and international studies students to participate in a video chat with Russian students on the topics of human rights and racial/ethnic bias in American and Russian judicial systems.

The American and Russian students watched "Twelve Angry Men" and it's Russian remake, "12," in preparation for the discussion.

GW Law students Douglas Noreen and Sergy Basyuk (with Nathaniel Marotta and Claire Duggan) participated in the video conference that included dialogue on each nation's ideas on the civic duty of jury duty, reasonable doubt, and overincarceration, among other topics.

March 15, 2010 | GW Law hosted Secretary R. Banyopadhyay, Ministry of Corporate Affairs, India, and Mr. Gitesh Khosla of the Indian Institute of Corporate Affairs. Professors Thomas Schoenbaum, Arthur Wilmarth, and Don Clarke, and Associate Dean Susan Karamanian participated in discussions with the delegation that focused on the recent financial crisis and regulatory responses to it.
